Frosted Madness is one of the latest strains that make up our first drop from our new seedbank, Grateful Seeds. Frosted Madness is a cross between Frosted Melon and Grateful Seeds’ creation Pineapple Madness. Frosted Madness is an unimaginably exotic cantaloupe melon & gas front end and back notes of candied pineapple and putrid rotten fruit funk.
The Grateful Seeds squad used the Frosted Melon cut as the mother, found by a close friend of theirs, The Brain Food Grower, through popping a pack of beans from Lost River Seeds. Grateful seeds chose this cut for its resin potential as well as its decadently rich fruit and gas terp profile and its easy to see why as the Frosted Melon has been making waves in the Barcelona hash scene recently due to its amazing resin production & sweet, tropical fruit and gas terpene expression. Pineapple madness 16 is the father of the cross, using a unique cut from their selection that was picked for its vibrant terp profile that is expressed with a sharp acidity reminiscent of freshly squeezed pineapple juice with a bit more sour fermentation that gives a putrid funk to its exotic aromas.
This breeding project was undertaken with the goal to improve the resin and bud structure of the delectable pineapple madness whilst retaining most of the pineapple madness’s’ unique terp profile. Thankfully the result was a stunning success, resulting in an evenly balanced mix of pineapple and melon terpenes. Thankfully, the Pineapple Madness dramatically improved the structure and growth, and the flowers grow in a more compact, dense structure whilst also being harder thanks to the Frosted Melon.
The Frosted Madness grows to a medium size and grows quickly in a broad and resilient structure. The scents of fresh pineapple will quickly proliferate in early flowering, smelling like a pineapple plantation, matched carefully with the delightful mix of gassy melon & the rotten, sugary notes of pineapple that develop later. Whilst the terpene profile is wildly exotic in flower or hash, one of the best attributes of this cultivar is the massive resin heads she produces, a real dumper making it the perfect choice for legal extractors with a taste for exotic terps.
The Grateful Seeds family is a small-batch Barcelona based team with a great love for the cannabis culture. They have a long experience rooted in working across the globe in the USA, Mexico, Switzerland, Spain and Morocco that led them to develop their own techniques to express their love for breeding.
Their mission statement focuses on great resin production for flower and hash making and creating exclusive, exotic terpene profiles. They are constantly exploring new ways of combining these two factors to offer new varieties to the community. Grateful Seeds is a project born in 2015 in Barcelona after years of selecting and testing where they’ve networked to find some of the best keeper phenos in the game to maintain in their library for future development.
